Tom Kang Lead Pastor
Tom is proud native of a township called Montville, NJ. Although nobody has ever heard of his hometown, anyone that meets him once find it impossible to forget him. He did his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins and found his real calling during his graduate studies at Columbia University. He chose Dallas Theological Seminary and quickly launched into ministry at Bethany United Methodist Church in New Jersey. He soon became the Teaching Pastor at Liquid Church, and most recently served at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest.
He is married to Erica, the love of his life, and together, they have three amazing children, Aly, Nori, and May. When Tom is able to break away from making his family laugh at his jokes, he enjoys cheering on his NY Giants, NY Yankees, and ... he's open to adopting the Lakers. And although he says he's not built for speed or endurance, he just completed marathons in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
He absolutely loves sharing the love of Jesus Christ with everybody he comes in touch with.
David Kim Campus Pastor
David grew up in Los Angeles and considers himself an 'Angeleno" at heart. He loves everything LA including In-N-Out burgers, the Lakers and the Dodgers. He became a Christian when he was a freshman in college and has never looked back ever since. He graduated from Talbot School of Theology (M.Div.) and considers ministry a privilege. He loves the church and how God uses the church to impact the world and expand His Kingdom.
He is married to his beautiful wife, Gena, and together they have three kids: Zoe, Abigail, and Isaiah. They will all one day be Laker and Dodger fans!
On his spare time he loves to spend time with his family, eat good food, and watch and play sports.
Yana Ahn Global Missions Pastor
Yana grew up in Los Angeles for most of her life, but she is a nomad at heart. She graduated from Columbia International University & Seminary (M.Div.) and Fuller Theological Seminary (MA in Cross-Cultural Studies). Yana oversees the global missions department for both Broadway and Jefferson.
She is happily single and resides with her retired parents. She also enjoys being an aunt to five wonderful nieces and nephews who are across the country and the globe. She comes from a family of missionaries; both her sister and her brother are missionaries in Asia.
When Yana is out of the office, you can always find her exploring and learning something new about the city with others. She also loves traveling the world, and immersing herself in a new culture. Yana never judges a book by its cover and is willing to eat at any place, at least once – ask her about pho by the freeway.
Blake Cowen College Pastor
Blake is from the small town of Fort Scott, KS and followed God’s calling out to Los Angeles in 2015. Blake and his wife, Grace, recently finished up at Ozark Christian College and upon graduation moved to join the team here at Jefferson.
Blake serves as one of the pastors at Jefferson and gets excited when the family of God crosses generational and cultural boundaries, creating a diverse home away from home. If you're in need a home-cooked meal or searching for a family away from home then he’s the man with the connections!
Whenever Blake doesn’t have his head in a book, he loves to be active and outside. Between playing Ultimate Frisbee, sand volleyball, and learning how to surf, you can find him cheering for his Kansas City teams. Go Royals!
Dustin Lang Education Pastor
Dustin was born and raised in Los Angeles. He grew up eating In-N-Out, cheering for the Lakers, and enjoying sunny skies. Although Dustin spent his four years of college in the Bay Area, he soon returned after graduation and has lived in LA ever since. Dustin feels a strong pride for the City of Angels and believes that God has a special plan for it.
Dustin oversees the education ministries while also leading the weekly services of grades one through five. He has a burning passion to see children and youth place their faith in Jesus and become true disciples. He believes that church should be a fun, relevant, and safe place for children and youth to be transformed by the unconditional love of Christ.
When not at Jefferson, Dustin gives his time to a parachurch ministry called Revival LA and a YouTube channel called Lovers Loving Others. He also enjoys working out, playing basketball, rooting for his Los Angeles sports teams, and bragging about his fiance... with humility, of course.
Grace Cowen Impact Youth Pastor
Grace started her journey in the suburban town of Olathe, Kansas. She followed Jesus’ call to Ozark Christian College where she graduated with a degree in Christian Ministry. After graduation, Grace married her best friend, Blake, and moved across the country to Los Angeles. Grace fell in love with the vision that God has for this church and heard God’s call louder than ever.
Grace is the pastor of sixth through twelfth grade students at Jefferson. She loves junior high and high school students because she believes that the younger generation is not just the future of the church, but passionate contributors to the church now.
If Grace isn’t hanging out with students, you could probably find her eating a giant bowl of macaroni and cheese, dancing at the ballet studio, or binge reading her favorite books.
Sunhee Park Infant-Kindergarten cKids Pastor
Sunhee grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She then moved to SoCal to serve in children ministry at a local church. As a result, she has lost her southern twang, but still loves to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys. She worked for a missions organization as a mobilizer for several years, and God led her back to children's ministry in a full circle.
Sunhee is the children's pastor for infants to kindergartners at Jefferson. She is married to Bowen and they have a son named Colson. To wind down after a long day, Sunhee loves to watch a good movie but usually falls asleep.
